Go International! SMA Santo Antonius Jakarta Ikuti Dehonian International Conference 2025

Selasa, (28/10/2025), SMA Santo Antonius baru saja berpartisipasi dalam acara Dehonian International Conference, bertajuk "Open Heart Open Mind" dengan tema "Love In Action: Creating Tomorrow's World". SMA Santo Antonius Jakarta mengutus 5 anak untuk berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tersebut, diantaranya; Tara Michelle Everdine Kadengkian (XII F2), Theresia Almeda Wulandari (XII F4), Michelle Tania (XII F4), Jovan Haryanto (XII F3), dan Yohanna Samantha Claasen (XI F1). Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara online, mengingat pertemuan ini diikuti oleh semua sekolah dehonian di dunia, diantaranya dari Indonesia itu sendiri (SMA Santo Antonius Jakarta dan SMA Yos Sudarso Lampung), Kanada, Brazil, Madagaskar, Chile dan negara lainnya yang dibawah naungan romo- romo SCJ. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada pukul 19.00 WIB - 22.00 WIB, mengikuti zona waktu negara penyelenggara, Kanada. Anak- anak SMA Santo Antonius sangat antusias dalam mengikuti acara tersebut, terlihat dari pukul 18.00 WIB mereka sudah berkumpul di sekolah.

Konferensi itu diselenggarakan oleh Anastasiia Lavrynets selaku penanggung jawab kegiatan tersebut. Salah satu tujuan diadakannya kegiatan tersebut adalah untuk membuka mata pihak yang mengikuti konferensi terhadap isu dan permasalahan sosial yang ada di seluruh dunia dan mencari solusi logis dan kreatif dalam bentuk mempresentasikan video yang sudah dipersiapkan setiap sekolah. Acara diawali dengan perkenalan dari masing-masing sekolah, lalu dilanjutkan dengan presentasi video yang sudah dibuat oleh masing- masing sekolah. Acara ini memberi kesan tersendiri bagi anak- anak SMA SAnto Antonius Jakarta, "Saya sangat bersyukur dengan adanya kesempatan ini untuk berkomunikasi dan berbagi gagasan dengan sekolah-sekolah mancanegara." Kata Tara, selaku ketua presentasi.


On October 28, 2025, the Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur proudly led the First Annual World Conference “Open Heart and Mind” under the theme “Love in Action: Creating Tomorrow’s World.” This inspiring event united Dehonian schools from all over the world to celebrate shared values, exchange ideas, and take action for a better future.  The conference was organized by the Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur in Québec, with Christian Lavergne as Head of the Conference, Anastasiia Lavrynets as Founder, Father Richard as Spiritual and Dehonian Mentor, Marie-Josée Derouin as coordinator of student community, and Mathieu Grosleau and Jean-Michel Robert providing technical support. Together, this dedicated team turned an idea into a meaningful event that connected hearts and minds across continents.
The concept of the conference was born during a meeting between Father Richard, Father Gustave, and Anastasiia Lavrynets in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. They discussed the challenges facing today’s world and the urgent need to promote Dehonian values among youth. The vision was to create a new tradition that would inspire young people to act with love, take responsibility for their future, and care for generations to come. This idea was shared with Father Willyams in Rome, as well as the Dehonian communities in Ottawa, Brazil, the United States, Spain, and Indonesia. With the support of all, the project came to life — a symbol of unity and shared mission.
The chosen theme for this first edition, “Love in Action: Creating Tomorrow’s World,” reflects the heart of Dehonian philosophy. Love is at the center of every action and every choice we make. Through this theme, students were encouraged to express how love motivates them to act, to care, and to bring positive change to their communities and to the planet. 
The conference was officially opened by Father Carlos, General Superior of the Dehonian Community, who offered his words of inspiration and blessing to all participants. His message reminded everyone that when our actions are guided by love, we become instruments of hope and transformation in the world.
“Open Herat and Mind” conference gathered 10 schools and 1 group uniting seven schools from Spain, representing over 70 participants from 8 countries and 4 continents — Indonesia, Madagascar, Spain, Italy, Brazil, the United States, Chile, and Canada. Each team created a short video presentation sharing their ideas and projects connected to the theme. The topics chosen by participants included environmental protection, recycling, kindness, mental wellness, empathy, anti-bullying, food waste reduction, responsibility, and leadership through love. 
At the end of the conference, all participating schools were recognized with unique nominations that reflected their efforts and creativity. Among the distinctions were: Voices of Care and Healing – Sao Luiz, Brudque, Brazil; Champions of Responsibility – Sacred Heart School, Mississippi, US; Creators of Connection – Sagrada Corazon, Chile; Hearts Against Bullying - Saint Antony High School,Jakarta, Indonesia; Builders of Tomorrow – San Jeronimo, Alba de Tormes, Spain; Youth Leaders for a Better World – Our Lady of Guadalupe, Texas, US; Protectors of Creation – Yos Sudarsa , Metro, Indonesia; Hearts that Inspire – Lycée Catholique Léon Dehon, Madagascar; Keepers of Faith and Values – Faculdade Dehoniana Sao Paolo, Brazil; Guardians of Our Planet – Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur, Ambassadors of Peace – group of 7 schools from Spain. 
Each participant was celebrated as a winner, because every action born of love helps make our world brighter and kinder. 
In honor of this special occasion, a song titled “Open Heart and Mind” was written for the conference. The anthem expresses the spirit of the event — opening our hearts and minds, acting with love, and shaping the future together. This first edition marks only the beginning of a new Dehonian tradition. The organizers plan to expand the event in the coming years, welcoming even more schools and students from around the world to join this movement of compassion, reflection, and hope.
As a plan for the future, at the beginning of November 2025, the Head of the Conference, Christian Lavergne, will present this initiative to Educare Dehonians, inviting their collaboration and support. This partnership will help us expand the horizons of the project so that future editions of the Open Heart and Mind Conference can be held with the support of the international Dehonian organization Educare.

Through open hearts and open minds, the Dehonian family continues to grow stronger, proving that no ocean and no distance can divide us when we are united by love and shared values. The Open Heart and Mind Conference has become more than just an event — it is a movement of compassion, reflection, and unity that brings young people together to live out Dehonian values in action. Every student, teacher, and community member who took part proved that love has the power to connect hearts across continents and to create meaningful change. With every edition, we will continue to build bridges, inspire hope, and remind the world that with open hearts and open minds, we can truly create tomorrow’s world.
